I spent many years living with the Indigenous people of Pacanda island. My father was the Anthropologist responsible for introducing the Chicken Farming to them in the 50's. I remember the "Day of the Dead" ceremonies and of the the candle-lit spiritual nights there.

I would love to go back!

Joy,

I really enjoyed your photos, my first experience with Dia de los Muertos was also in Toluca. I use to live there with my dad's side of the family for about a year. The Portales is my favorite place to be during that time. Your pics brought back so many fond memories. Thank you.

Respectfully,

Matt Favila

Hi! I'm so excited to find your blog! I am moving from Manhattan to Mexico DF in exactly three weeks and although I've already found a place in Polanco (through work), I would love to meet/hang out with other "gringos" who already live there. Please please let me know if there are any expat groups or anything of the sort. It would be very helpful in the transition.
Thanks!!
