Of course, it’s sad and tragic that a Sea World trainer was killed by a killer whale today in Orlando.

But, please. What do you expect when you force a highly intelligent, social and migratory animal to live in a cramped enclosure? What’s shocking here is not what happened today, but that it doesn’t happen all the time.

Very sad to hear about this.

I myself am not a fan of keeping wild animals captive for the amusement of human beings. You can train them, care for them from birth, but we know who they are – Wild Animals. If animals are captive for Animal Conservation reasons than I understand.

    Free Willy – All Willies.

OSHA is still working to put a stop to trainers being in the water with orcas as a result of this incident. I just read an article this morning. Seems the entire industry is on edge over how the court ruling is going to go. I wish more people would realize how horrible it is to keep these magnificient creatures in a swimming pool for our amusement.

I’ve made it my personal mission to help put a stop to cetacean captivity, and hope you’ll check out my blog post about it:

    Thanks for reading!
