Many jacks in the pulpit

Hidden under the taller, more sun loving plants in our garden is the handsome jack in the pulpet. This year, for whatever reason, we have more than usual. High above the pitcher-shaped flower – shown here — are three large trillium like leaves, which is the only way we spot them.

(At this point, our yard is a shining example of a deer-resistant, low-maintenance yet pollinator friendly perennial garden.)
