On Madeline Island in Lake Superior we started our kayaking trip from this stunning and gigantic crescent-shaped beach. The little strip of land to the right is our first goal.
Midway, looking back at the beach. We had a tandem kayak with a rudder – wow it made it easy to just focus on paddling and not paddle-steering.
About an hour in, we make it to the sea caves on this island (there are many on the various islands). The waves and water have eroded the porous sandstone to create these works of art.
The sky cooperated by giving us extra scenic beauty.
At the halfway point we all got out to rest and, if we wanted, jump from the cliffs. The breathless shrieks coming from jumpers stunned by the cold water was enough to stay dry.
